DVR's (Digital Video Recorders) replace VCR's, and
Multiplexers with a Computer based system and require little
Maintenance. A high resolution Monitor is recommended to allow you
to see the quality of the live images and recorded video. A UPS is
recommended to protect the system against fluctuations in power. |
 |
Cameras need little Maintenance other than regular
cleaning to keep dust & dirt off the lenses & camera body. Cameras
should almost always be in a housing to help protect them from the
elements & damage. |
 |
Camera power supplies are one of the first things to
check when you are experiencing camera problems. If back-up
batteries are used they have to be replaced every 3 to 5 years. |
 |
Monitors should always be turned off when not being
viewed, this helps extend the life of the monitor and helps
prevent screen burn. |

Overall, CCTV equipment should be kept away from
excessive heat, cold, moisture or corrosive environments unless
you are using equipment specifically designed for that
environment. |
